Rose of Hilo beat the barrier, led throughout and won going away. Torila closed a gap from an indifferent start and finished going fast. Los Angeleno, a good looker, was crowded back at the half and finished the last quarter fast and should improve greatly. Esternell tired in the final drive and still looks big and unfit. Illilouon was lncky r I and had clear sailing, and only saved third place under Ranchs vigorous ride. Saintly was crowded at t t the start and was worn out in racing into the lead in the first half, and under a weak ride tired at the I end He was easily second best and shows steady improvement. Lone Fisherman disliked the going, , I hntran a fair race and can win on a good track. Mission failed to stay. Greyfeld beat the barrier, followed the pacemaker closely and came on the extreme outside into the stretch, where he swerved clear over to the inner rail, destroying the chances of several contenders. Expedient finishad with a rush and was lucky to drop in second. Axminster came through on the inside in the last quarter and was forced to pull up right at the end, losing second place. Constellator forced the pace for seven fnrlongs, destroying his chances, and he was nearly knocked down when a farlong out by Greyfelds swerving. Larry Wilt was outclassed. Greyfeld, show, 3 to 5. Matt Hogan ran well in hand to the stretch, but failed to stay and was evidently short. Muresca was apparently beaten early and waB gradually falling back afrer going the first quarter.
