Larry Wilt, lucky, moved up fast on the stretch turn, took the lead in the strntcu and just lasted to beat Lone Fisherman. The latter, nearly left, improved his position whila runnin? on the extreme outside throughout, made a hopelessly wide stretch turn, then closed up like a flash and was much the best. All About displayed fine form and finished well. Bacchus closed a tremendous gap from a bad start. Gawaine quit in the last quarter. Sleeping Child failed to stay and can do better. Modicum ran in close company with the winner to the last furlong, where he was compelled to pull up by Epicure running over to the rail. Penance was always prominent and finished going well. Gold Van got away badly and was movfd up prematurely in the first half, then failed to hold his position and was carried wide on the stretch turn, losing six lengths and then closed up very fast at the end in spite of a weak and bungling ride. Claude failed to stay, although a sharp contender when a furlong out. Gaviota quit in the last quarter and ran a very bad race. Hesper was suited by this track and displayed sudden and amazing good form. Away poorly.. he raced into prominence on the last turn and came away fast in the stretch. Handpress was given a lucky start and practically forced the pace to the stretch and ran unexpectedly well. Ultruda was an easy third and could hare been closer up. Bonnie Lissak was crowded at the start and finished with a rush Rey Dare got away badly and was interfered with repeatedly. Greyfeld sulked, being without blinkers, and favors soft going. Honiton was best and secured a lucky start, forced a terrific pace to the stretch, whero she came away fast and struggled on very gamely in spite of palpable weariness at the end. Durazzo foil away in the firt quarter and then came again like a shot under a weak ride. Yellow Tail raced into early prominence from a poor etart and was a sharp contender when a sixteenth out and was probably short. Sister Jeanie is very good and was coming like a flash at the end.
