Gravina trailed the pacomakers and caught them tiring in the stretch, where she closed up fast and was apparently winning easily, but unexpectedly tired and was driving hard in the last sixty yards. Dainty, evidently a good one, was hopelessly outrun for the first half, but finished with a phenomenal rush and would have won in another stride. Stuyve succumbed after forcing a terrific pace for five furlongs and was unlucky to lose the race. SyMa Talbot was away poorly and followed Stuyves pace closely, but was inadequately handled and fell away in the final furlong. Gravina, show, out. Dainty, show, 2 to 1. Stuyve, show, out.
