Bell Reed, away well, made the running throughout and appeared a sure winner in the stretch but failed to stay as usual. Hipponax ran a game race at the weights. Pupil, next to the rail, away badly and pocketed, worked "a rough journey to the stretch where he finished well. Edinborough ran a good race. Rameses closed up a big gap. Bearcatcher ran like a genuine crackerjack, was away fiatfooted and crowded at the start but worked into a long and winning lead quickly and was easing up in the last quarter. Bombardier received a good start, displayed improved speed and stamina but was a lucky second. Golden Mineral broke and ran green and fell out of the race in the early stages, but closed up like a flash right at the end and must be a good one and looks like it. Young Pepper was poorly ridden, failed to stay and can do better. The others were outclassed. 1 Bearcatcher, show. out. The entry, show, 1 to 3. Golden Mineral, show, 1 to 3. Lady Kent, at present in good form, sustained her superior speed unexpectedly well and was closing up like a flash at the end. Antolee ran in improved form. Dunblane waited on the winners pace, hard held for five furlongs, but failed to come on in the final struggle Grail, nearly left, closed a big gap but had a scant chance with a bad jockey. Went to post at 3:33. At post 1 minute. Start fair. Won driving; second the same. Yellow Tail made the running under a choking pull for seven furlongs and fought out the final furlong with unexpected gameness, but" swerved out at the end and crossed Gold Van. The latter, poorly ridden, was reserved to the stretch where he closed up like a whirlwind after making a hopelessly wide turn and appeared like winning when a sixteenth out, where Yellow Tail bore out and compelled him to pull up. Cunard followed the pacemakers closely and was carried wide and pinned in between Yellow Tail and his stable companion and suffered costly interference, but finished very fast and was second best. Claude ran a high class race but favors mud. Nones, away badly, closed a great gap but ran somewhat sore. Lord Badge failed to stay. Water Cure was practically left and made up twenty lengths on the leaders but bolted in the stretch. Gold Bell was outclassed and favors mud. Argregor seems good but high. He has worked fast trials and should improve fifty per cent, over his showing of today. Scratched 37430 Siddons, 106; 37484Hermencia, 103; 37448 Diderot, 100; 37328Esh-erin, 97. She is a high class filly and can beat the best here. Rag Tag ran a superior race and displayed brilliant and enduring speed and was easily second best. Glendenning led by a wide margin for the first half but tired at the end. Golden Light finished with a rush and is very good. Warte Nicht runs best in mud. The Pride was crossed at the start. Artilla was easily best, ran under a pull for the first mile although the pace was ridiculously slow, fell away in the stretch run but came again at the end and was wearing the winner down. Greyfeld found the going tod hard and failed in the final sprint. Tizona was choked in the first part of the race and sharply interfered with on the far turn when making a tardy move. Colonel Ballantyne on sufferance, made the running for seven furlongs. Axminster appeared very sore Corrected weights Tizona, 103. Overweights Tizona, 2 pounds. Autolight, show, 1 to 2.
