Bondage was outrun for the first half, but wore .the field down while rounding the far turn and fought it out with Safeguard in the last sixteenth. Miriam W. displayed a lot of early speed and was at home in the going. Versifier was a strong contender for the first half, but was tiring in the last furlong. He was slightly iri-terfered with at the start. Josette had but scant early speed and was on the outside for the entire trip and finished fast and outgamed Topsy Over in the final drive. The Brown Monarch showed the most speed and was at home in the going, raced Bird Poud and Ario to defeat in the first half, came away thereafter and won as he. pleased. Ario was under a hard drive all of the last furlong. Circulator began slowly, closed up a big gap and outgamed Bird Poud when it came to the final drive. Rosanco showed a lot of early speed, but Robertson took him back while rounding the far turmand cut the corner closely on the stretch turn. This move saved him several lengths and enabled him to take the lead, which he retained to the end. Censor began slowly and had a rough trip, was cut off at the half mile post and again at the far turn, and Fuller kept him on the extreme outside all of the way. Farmer Jim weakened in the last furlong, he was off well in motion and displayed a lot of early speed. Amigari tired under the weight. Scratched 37G94Telamon, 125; 377043Shrine, 107. Irving Mayor was easily the best, he displayed a lot of speed, went to the front without great effort when ready and was eased up all of the last furlong. Locochee beat the others off and was as easily second best. Joe Collins was doing his best at the end to stall off Santa Teresa. The latter trailed along in the rear for the major part of the way and came with a belated rush. Irving Mayor was bid up to 00 and bought by S. C.
