Pupil was away poorly, but with clear sailing gradually improved his position and finished with a rush. Handpress, badly ridden and in the deep going throughout, forced the pace to the stretch, where he fell away. Greenock, also in the deep going, finished fast. Formero closed up a great gap and was particularly favored by the stiff track. Rameses ran a good half and was close up at the end. Cambaceres wants a fast track. Rowena was in the deep going throughout, but her swerving at the end beat her. She is a superior class Ally. Libbie Candid beat the barrier and showed the most early speed, but failed to stay. Celebrant, away badly and repeatedly crossed and interfered with, was best, inadequately ridden he closed up an immense gap. Pachuca, nearly left, made up ten lengths and ran like a stayer.- Oro Rose had no chance at the start or with a bad jockey. Scratched Gypsy Ben, 110. Military Man, show, G to 5. Lansdown, away in front, retained his advantage throughout and was much the best. Ripper, skillfully handled and favored by the stiff going, closed up like a whirlwind in the stretch. Marineuse ran a game race, and was in the worst going throughout. Arthur Ray finished fast. Idogo received a bad ride. Educate weakened after following the winner closely for a half. Princess Titania picked the best going, followed the pacemaker closely and wearing him down after a long stretch drive scored a lucky victory through Blrkenruths superior finish. Deutschland displayed amazing speed and stamina and should have won. He was particu larly favored by the stiff going and is a vastly improved colt. Beau Ormonde was best-, raced throughout in the deep going, which he dislikes, and lost several lengths on the stretch turn, but closed up with an unexpected rush in the last furlong and was going fastest of all at the end. Nigrette, badly ridden, was anchored in heavy mud next to the rail. Botany was outclassed. Overweights Botany, 1 pound. Princess Titania, show, out. Deutschland, show, 4 to 1. Elfonse, in rare form and skillfully handled, picked the best going on the outside and finished strongly coming away on the far turn without great urging. Rose of May, forced into the deep going in the early stages, worked a rough journey and finished fast under a bad ride. David S. went unexpectedly well and held on gamely in the stretch drive. Velma Clark, away poorly, came with a belated rush at the end. Choteau liked the slow track and made a surprisingly good showing. Larry Wilt was in the bad going throughout. Hipponax received a bad looking ride, was taken next to the rail in the deep going and was anchored in consequence and pulled up to a walk at the end. Platonius ran well for the first six furlongs. Canejo liked the cuppy track and ran a good race. Goldone was badly ridden and failed to stay. Dagmar showed a good early pace.
