Fuller waited with him until well around the far turn before making his move and outrode Howell when it came to the final drive. Lacache was a strong contender throughout, but Howell could not do him justice. Ringdove finished in the sticky going. Benefit began slowly, closed up a big gap and finished fast. Fickle Saint was outrun for the first half, finished fast and outgamed Lakota in the final drive. The latter showed early speed but tired. She stepped in a hole just as the finish was reached and fell. Florrie S. tumbled over her. The Widow ran away two miles on her way to the post.
