Fuller waited with him until well around the far turn before making his move and outrode Howell when it came to the final drive. Lacache was a strong contender throughout, but Howell could not do him justice. Ringdove finished in the sticky going. Benefit began slowly, closed up a big gap and finished fast. Denny Duffy was outrun for the first half, came with a belated rush and got third place in the last stride. Dodie S. was crowded into the sticky going in the last furlong. Won easily; second the same. White Owl was the best. Fuller kept her on the outside for the first three furlongs and then cut across to the middle of the track where the going was better. Fickle Saint was outrun for the first half, finished fast and outgamed Lakota in the final drive. The latter showed early speed but tired. She stepped in a hole just as the finish was reached and fell. Florrie S. tumbled over her. The Widow ran away two miles on her way to the post. De Reszke showed much early speed, but tired. Marshal Neil ran a good race under a poor ride. Nyx displayed the most speed and Gannon picked the best going and raced Lady Brockway to defeat before the stretch turn was reached and came away without great effort in the stretch run.
