She and Shrine fought it out all through the stretch, she winning in the last stride. Shrine made a game effort to get to the front, but could not quite reach. Ten Below Zero was second by accident. Dalliance appeared to be catching the winner as he approached the last jump, where he stumbled and left a clear field for Ten Below Zero to secure second place. Armada H. fell at the sixteenth jump and Buffer lost his rider at the eleventh jump. The latter finished without a rider in first place. . Scratched — 38110 Japanee, 156. Benckart was ridden a waiting race for the first six furlongs, wore down Wheeler B. and Animosity in the stretch run and came away easing up at the end. Wheeler B. was raced into exhaustion in chasing Animosity, but held on gamely. Lou Rey, off none too well, came fast in the stretch and got third place without trouble. Avrshire Lad raced Thessalon to defeat in the first half and then came away as his rider pleased, winning in a canter. Hawkins began slowly, but had no trouble in securing second place after getting in his stride. Medal did his best. Thessalon was raced into exhaustion in trying to keep up with Ayrshire Lad. The field was badly strung out when coming home. Decoration was pinched off at the; start, but came very fast at the end and secured second place in the final stride. Earl of Norfolk was tiring at the end from the fast early pace.
