Easy Trade, always well up, moved up fast while rounding the stretch turn and, assuming command in the last furlong, had no trouble in outstaying Lovable. The latter displayed early speed and paced the field steadily, but tired in the last sixteenth. Circus Girl met with slight interference at the half and again in the stretch, but should have been closer up. John Coulter began slowly and lacked early speed, but came fast in the stretch run. Ross-mond ran a dull race and can do better. Quiz tired badly and was eased up at the end. Jigger showed early speed. Jack Rattlin, skillfully handled, forced the pace and showed stamina and gameness in withstanding repeated challenges from Ethel Wheat and Ocean Dream. Ethel Wheat rah a good race and was probably unlucky to lose. She was taken wide on the stretch turn, thereby losing much ground, but finished fast and resolutely. Ocean Dream had no mishaps and did her best. Neversuch belongs in less pretentious company and about ran her race. Scratched 42720 Thane, 107; 42853 Tarn oShanter, 95; 42853 Tom Curl, 90. Goo Goo trailed the field for the first mile, moved up steadily thereafter and was gaining at the end. Sailors Dream ran a fairly good race. Directum showed speed, but quit. John Yerkes was cut down after going a mile. It was too dark to note fractional time correctly. Corrected weights Goo Goo, 89; John Yerkes, 105. Overweights Sailors Dream, 2 pounds; Radford, 3.
