At post 1 minute. Start good. Won driving; second the same. Princess Tulane got off well and ran to her best form, but was tiring at the end and Glor-iosa would have won in a few more yards. The latter closed up very fast in the stretch after overcoming a poor start. Unterock improves with each race. Off none too well, she went up fast in the first part of the race and worked her way to the front on the stretch turn, but could not quite last. The distance was a trifle short for Courtmaid, but she finished fast. Wager and Blue and Orange were off well in motion and showed speed, but tired. Paget got off poorly. Start good. Won driving; second easily. Graziallo is in good form at present. He is a speedy colt and forced a fast pace all of the way, from which he tired and he was doing his best at the end to stall off Silver Dream. The latter ran a good race and would have beaten the winner in a few more strides. Sais saved ground on the stretch turn and finished with a rush. Peter Paul was crowded out on the first turn, but came around the field and made up ground in the stretch, only to tire in the final sixteenth. Harangue broke slowly and lacked early speed. Lord of the Valley ran below his best form and tired after going five furlongs. Wool-gatherer was under restraint for the first two miles, made up a lot of ground after clearng the last jump, but was under a hard drive all through the stretch to catch Conover. The latter was made too much use of in the early stages and he tired in the last hundred yards. Kelly made his run too soon with Billy Ray and he tired in the last quarter. Imperialist fenced well, but the weight was too much for him. Harrow was going well when he went down at the jump opposite the grandstand. Conkling was away well in motion and opened up a gap on the final turn, which the others were not able to overcome. Gananogue began slowly and made up a lot of ground, but had no chance to catch the winner. Colleen Bawn showed early speed and held on well under a vigorous finish. Clear the Arena was a contender to the final furlong, when she tired. Miss Melton ran poorly. Sneer ran in improved form and is worth remembering in the same company. Cottage Maid was in a good position to the stretch, where she drew away and had something in reserve at the end. Fortunatus finished gamely under punishment and outlasted Flara. The latter ran in improved form, made up a lot of ground, but tired at the end. Harrison displays improvement with each race. All Gold was a sharp contender to the final furlong, where he tired, was probably short and needed the race to fit him. Arden does not seem able to last a route. Cornwall was off poorly. Wire In showed early speed and raced with Mrs. Frank Foster to the last quarter, then drew away, but his early efforts told on him and he was stopping fast at the end and Carbuncle would have won in a few more strides. Carbuncle was under restraint to the stretch, where he closed up fast, but could not get up. Sam Craig is a consistent colt and can win in cheaper company. The route was too far for Mrs. Frank Foster and she tired badly after showing a lot of early speed. The weight was too much for Duke of Kendal.
