Won easily; second driving. Julia Junkin made a show of her company. She rushed to the front -when the start came, opened up a winning lead before the others got to going and was never in trouble. Hickory Corners finished fast and caught Mayor Johnson tiring at the end and outgamed him when it came to the final drive. Mayor Johnson was well ridden and had no mishaps. Annie Max was not persevered with. She has been getting too many races too close together and it appears to have dulled her speed. Mad Mullah had to go around his field to get to the leaders, caught Duncan tiring in the last furlong and outgamed him when it came to the final drive. Duncan outbroke his field, displayed early speed and set a fast pace. The race should improve him. Exclamation got off tangled up and ran as if he did not like the going. He will do better on a fast track. King Croker tired after going three furlongs. Bountiful bolted to the outside fence at the turn out of the backstretch. Scratched 12345 Ryevale, 107. They were all under restraint for the first half and the race resolved itself into a sprint for the last three-eighths. Potheen drew away without great effort when ready. Dan McKenna tired when it came to a hard drive and he did not run to his best form. Airtight moved up fast when rounding the turn into the homestretch, but tired when it came to the final drive. Trocadero was taken back while gcing down the backstretch and came with a rush in the final furlong and won going away. Past carried Trocadero over to the middle of the track at the sixteenth post. Trocadero then swerved over across in front of Past. The interference seemingly cut no figure in the result. Past was made too much use of in the early stages and might have won had McCafferty waited until in the last quarter before making his run. Medal moved up fast while rounding the far turn and appeared dangerous at the turn into the homestretch, but tired in the stretch run. The Bobby dislikes a muddy track and will show to better advantage on a fast track. Scrached 43004 Potheen, 104; 42970IHayward Hunter, 100. Overweights The Bobby, 1$ pounds; Ida V., 4. Rainland ran as if he outclassed his company and was at home in the heavy going. He raced Dutiful into submission in the first six furlongs and drew away without great effort in the last eighth. Dutiful ran his race. He broke well in his stride and showed early speed, but tired when it came to a hard drive. Falernian got caught in a jam at the first turn and was crowded back. He closed up a big gap in the last quarter and finished going fast. May Holladay and Soldier of Fortune suffered from the interference at the first turn. Rainland, show, out. Dutiful, show, 3 to 5. Falernian, show. 3 to 10. -
