Margie, a srnnd looker, broke fully In motion and. being hard ridden, took a long lead at op.ee and. showing the most speed all the way, held the others safe, although hard ridden near the end to stall off Camp. The latter ran forwardly from .the start and, saving ground when turning into the stretch, threatened momentarily o displace Margie, but tired at the end. John Kaufman came with a rush in the last sixteenth arid got up in tlie final strides for third place. Webber ran a fairly good race only, but suffered from slight Interference. Merry Patriot came from a long way back in the stretch and ran a good race. Lady Vlmont and Demo performed poorly. Still Alarm broke In a tangle and had scant chance. Reveille, well ridden and reserved in the early running, dashed into the lead on the stretch turn and won with plenty in reserve. The Laurel ran in suddenly improved form and stayed unexpectedly well in the final drive after forcing the pace in the early stages. Locugoil showed good sced. hut tired when called on strongly for a linal effort in the-stretch run. Cotillion ran a good race and came with a belated rush in the final fnrlong. Doctor Dan was a prominent contender throughout. Mayor Johnson quit badly in the last half. St. Paris ran pooiy and was a sufferer from interference, lnllamuiable was taken the long way throughout and can do better. Mynheer can do much better and was never a serious contender. Charley Mitchell, energetically handled, raced well up in the early stages and was lucky in escaping interference, saved ground when turning into the stretch and came away in the linal furlong witli plenty in reserve. Selene 1J. showed the most early speed, hut bore out on the stretcli turn, losing ground, then rallied fast and finished gamely. Bitter Miss was in a jam soon after the start and closed a big gap. Javanese suffered from interference and poor handling, was taken to the inside from an outer position and sharply cut off, came fast at the end and can do better. Bonaventure ran a fairly good race. Ziek Abrams showed much speed and was responsible for most of the crowding and jamming in the first quarter and tired bally in the final quarter. Scratched 1,3250 Itcdgauntlet, 100. Mcllvain began slowly and gradually improved his position, came fast through the stretch when hard ridden and finished going fast. John L. Inglis ran a good race and stayed well In the final drive. Marshal Ney ran in suddenly improved form, is in winning condition and should make good soon. Major T. J. Carson tired badly in the last quarter and was eased up when thoroughly beaten. Alcor ran a good three-quarters only. Kercheval ran a bad race and was outpaced for the entire trip. Red Light seems to have gone back badly since the change of trainers.
