Mr. Brien was for many years secretary to General W. II. Jackson and had much to do with the management of Polle Meade Stud in the last days of the Generals life. It was through this connection that be became iilentitied with racfasg and after the dearth of General Jackson anil his son and the passing of Belle Meade as a breeding establishment llr.
