February 2:.— This was Walter Millers last day of service at the local course. The champion jockey won two imninls. earned one third and was twice unplaced out of live attempt* The tug crowd of racegoers realizing ih.n they would see him for, perhaps, the last time, stood up and cheered him for several minutes w lien he brought Alaric back to the stand after the Ifth race. This was a unique and well deserved tribute to the marvelous little horseman. The latter is generally conceded to have been short in his hist start and there was a lot of scandalous talk in connection with his defeat at the time. Dusty Millers showing today is too bad to lie true. Jockey Horner leaves for the east tomorrow.
