February 25. — In the case of the Western Turf Association vs. Hyina-n Orecnberg. the Supreme Court of the Inited States today _ affirmed the decision of the Supreme Court of California, giving Greent erg. who is a San Francisco newspaper man. Sl.iMMt damages for l eing ejected from the Tanforan racetrack in liHMt. at which time it had not been sold to the New California Jockey Bwh, the present owner of the plant. Tlie proceeding was instituted by Greenberg under tlie Cantor «iia law making it unlawful to exclude any person from places of amusement, and the association a I tacked tlie law as unconstitnttonal. The opinion of the court was announced by Chief Justice Harlan. who said that the law dots not contravene the national constitution.
