JEROME BILLS HAVE HEARING. Albany. N. Y. March 20.— The Jerome bills had their hearing before the Joint Codes Committee of the senate and Assembly today. The racing, interests were ably represented and seemed to have the liest of it in the arguments. The agricultural interests were strong in opposition to t lie measures which would take away the five per cent, tax on gate receipts. It is ant bettered that the bills will go to a vote, at least not without amendments favorable to the racing interests.
