GREAT STAKES OF THIS WEEK. The racing week beginning tomorrow- at Slieepsliead Bay is replete with promise of interesting sport, with many important events to be sent into turf history between Monday and Saturday inclusive. Two valuable stakes, the rich Twin City Handicap for thrce-yearrohls and over and the Autumn Maiden Stakes for two-year-olds will be run off tomorrow afternoon, the names of the probable starters appearing in the entry lists published in this issue. Two stakes will be disposed of Tuesday afternoon also, being the Partridge Stakes for two-year-olds at six furlongs over the turf course and the Dolphin Stakes for three-year-olds at -a mile and an eighth. The Partridge has Half Sovereign, Johnnie Blake, Lawrence P. Daley, Joe Nea-lon, Grande Dame, Gene Russell, Dennis Stafford, Big Chief, John Marrs, Park View, Hans and Creation among its eligible and should furnish an entertaining contest. For the Dolphin, W. II. Daniel, Temaeeo, Yankee Girl, Gretna Green, Arclte, Dash-nway, Ellieott, Saracinesca, Kennyettp, Paumonok, Killaloe and Monfort are prominent candidates. The Great Filly Stakes will be the stur feature of Wednesday with the Flying Handicap thrown in for good measure. The Great Filly is now at six furlongs over the Futurity course and the probable starters are Half Sovereign, Bouquet, Keep Moving, Julia Powel, Lady Winifred, Red Bonnet, Meggs Hill, Masquerade,, . Polly Watts, Desirous, Stamina and perhaps Jersey Lightning or Bonnie Star. Thu Flying Handicap is a dash of three-quarters for the swift three-year-old sprinters with Sewell, Court. Dress, De Mund, Vails, McCarter, Red River, Killaloe, Dinna Ken, W. II. Daniel, Temaeeo, Faust, Zal, Ilaensel, Don Enrique, Saracinesca, Oraculum and Dashaway engaged. The Dash Stakes for two-year-olds at five furlongs send the Reapers. Stakes for three-year-olds at a mile and three-sixteenths, have been set down for Thursday. In the Dash nominations the names of Fair Play, Half Sovereign, Chapultcpcc, Nimbus, Johnnie Blake, Lawrence P. Daley, Jim Gaffney, Bouquet, Notasulga, Grande Dame, Uncle, Kestigouche, Meelick, Spooner, Ben Fleet and Beaucoup stand out prominently. Of the Reapers eligibles, Fountain-blue, W. II. Daniel, Kentucky Beau, Faust, Temaeeo, Montgomery, Gretna Green, Arcite, Dash-away, Ellieott, Saracinesca, Paumonok, Killaloe, Monfort and Adoration appear best. But- one stake will be run Friday afternoon, it being the Turf Handicap for three-year-olds and over at. a mile and three-sixteenths over the grass track. Dr. Gardner, Running Water, Nealon, Oxford, Cartilage, Miss Crawford, Temaeeo, Grapple, Beacon Light, Tony Faust, Confederate, Ellieott, Voladay, McCarter, Bedouin, Good Luck, Gallavant and other good horses are in this. A great pro-grain of three rich events has been apportioned to Saturday the Great Autumn Steeplechase, Flat-bush Stakes and Century Stakes. The Great Autumn Steeplechase is the richest stake for jumpers given by the Coney Island Jockey Club, and its ,000 of added money makes it a highly desirable event in the mind of owners of crack steeplechasers. John M. P., Alfar, McKittredge, Thistle-dale, St. Volma, Grandpa, Bayonet, Expansionist, Agent, Mr. McCann, St. Kevin, Herculoid, Sinister, El Cuchillo and Sheriff Williams are among the eligibles. The Flatbush Stakes is for two-year-olds at seven-eighths of a mile, and Is of tin; guaranteed value of 0,000. Weights are seven pounds below the scale, with penalties and allowances, Colin is in this and his weight will be 120 pounds.
