AUSTRALIAN GRAND NATIONAL. The Australian Grand National Steeplechase, which was run on the closing day of the Victoria Racing Clubs meeting at Flemington, was won this year by G. Hodgkinsons Divham, an aged brown gelding by Hamilton Diva. He was ridden by W. Itay, the Gippsland jockey, carried 145 pounds and ran the abou three miles and one furlong in G:3Gi. After the first mile there was never any doubt alwwt his winning. There were sixteen starters and among them was a horse called Springfield, which was making his fifth successive appearance in the Grand National. He was unplaced, as usual.
