Shipp ran as if best, got away forwardly, ran into a long lead at once and won cantering througli: the stretch. Caltha. was in close ciuarters in the early stages and finished fast when clear. Agnes Wood was prominent all the way and finished gamely. Paul Ruinart had a tough trip and would have been closer up but for interference in the stretch. Merrywater ran fairly well. Dapple Gold forced the pace in the early stages and but for interference on the stretch turn would have Avon. Bert Osra showed speed, but tired suddenly when he appeared a certain winner. Raining Leaves, going wide most of the way, fiuished s-ainelvnnd was wearing the others down at the end. Tim Hurst had a rough trip. Stoner Hill, away poorly and badly ridden, had scant chance and ran a poor race. Thespian quit iu the last quarter. The winner was entered for 400; no bid. Inn recovered quickly and. wearing Judge Treen down after going a half, came away to win as his rider pleased. Colonel Jack put up a good performance and finished gamely, but was not good enough to beat the winner. Judge Treen showed superior early speed, but tired fast after going three-quarters and was disqualified for fouling Old Honesty on the first turn. Redgauntlet trailed far hack in the early stages and finished with a rush through the stretch. Dainty Belle was hard riddeu all the way. Beau Brummel ran poorly under weak riding and can do better. Nifo showed, much .-pted, forced a steady pace and stayed well iu the closing furlong. Bensonhurst showed the most early led, but tired fast after going a half. Careless ran fairly well. Toboggan, away slowly, moved tip . th a rush in the first half, but tired in the stretch. Funiculaire was" prominent in the early stages, bur was taken back when it seemed that he would be crowded back, lost much ground on the stretch turn and can do much1 better. French Nun ran poorly. At post 0 minutes. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. Polly Prim broke fast, but was shullled back soon after the start, then gave chase to True Wing and Hannibal Bey and,, gaining steadily in the stretch run, got up in the final stride. True Wing broke from an outer position and, dashing into a long lead on the first turn, appeared a certain winner in the stretch, but tired slightly in the closing strides. Topsy Robinson suffered from much interference, but closed a hit:- gap gamely and finished fast. Hannibal Bey ran fairly well and had no mishaps. Plantland was crowded back at the start. The Clansman broke well but, under timid riding, was sharply taken back at the start and this effectively disposed of his chabces.
