Hessian was closer up than usual in the early running and gained very fast on the leader through the last quarter and, in a close lit, got lils nose in front in the last two strides. Miss Sain showed superior early speed and held on well under punishment through the last furlong. Jubilee Juggins showed decided improvement and. wldle a distant third, outstayed Carrollton gamely. The latter could never improve his position and ran a disappointing race. Senator Barrett showed early speed, but quit badly. Bonnie Alan ran out all the way. Jack Atkln was waited with in behind Spooner until about a furlong from home, where Iif- went to the front with a rush and was easing up at the finish. Spooner showed great early speed, but bad to give way to the winner and was forced to a drive to stall off the tush of Welbourne. The latter" was outrun carl-, but came fast in the last quarter. Fanst showed speed. Number One did not run to her true form, and can do better. Zienap was outrun all the way. Won easily; second and third driving. Right Royal ran in close attendance on .the leaders for a mile and, when well straightened.out for home, passed Pins and Needles and won easing up. Pins and Needles ran a good race and was taken up with a rush on the far turn and held the lead for a sixteenth, but was unable to withstand the winners rush. Toniuiv Watldell came again after dropping back when a quarter of a mile out and finished gamely and close up. Estimate rushed out into the lead with great speed, but quit badly after going a good mile. Sainesaw was knocked back on the turn and finished witli a rush. Recne AV. showed early speed, but failed to stay. Masks and Faces loomed up at the head of the stretch, then quit badly. Gates was away slowly, but moved up steadily aud, joining the winner on the stretch turn, put up a game, but unavailing, effort and was easily second best. George G. Hall was always prominent and outstayed Destroyer for third place. The latter closed a big gap into a fas! going fourth. Kestrel tired after going three-quarters.
