Baboo, from a good start, ran within striking distance and barely failed to win in a fast 1 1 Isi. Cocytus, away slowly, steadily improved his position into a fast going third. Sir Wesley broke 1 xilv and gained rapidly on the leaders, but tired in the final drive. Swcet-taire, after early forward ntention, dropped back on the last turn. Karennina showed early speed, held on well and should im-li ovc. Warden Yell had a bad send-on and was outpaced, but finished well. St. Bede was shuffled to the rc;u at the start. Gemmell ran to the front early and won all the way like a good one. Prejulcio, outpaced in the early running, loomed tup with a rush in the stretch, but tired in the last few strides. St. Elm wood, shuflled hack at the start, ran prominently in the middle running, then went wide in the stretch in a belated, but cyclonic, finish. Ocean Shore,- away slowly, got into quick strenuous pursuit of the leaders, but tired finally and is becoming good. Al Lindley quit badly, but is Improving. Elmdale, after prominent attendance on the pacemakers, drew out in the stretch like the winner, but tired finally. Captain Burnett, after nearest pursuit of the pacemakers for seven furlongs, tired in the closing drive. Fisher Boy, away slowly, dashed into a long lead and held sway for over six furlongs, but failed to stay. Etapa, away poorly, steadil yimproved his position into a fast going and close fifth. Sahara had n6 mishaps, but swerved and ran unkindly. Gauuet was knocked out of the race at the start. The winner was en. tered for S500; 110 bid. Scratched 71S7S Rotrou, 107. Native Son ran in close and persistent pursuit of the early pacemaker and drew out on the far turn, hut succumbed finally after a game struggle. Mary V. ran in forward pursuit of the leaders and finished well, is extra good and likes soft going. The Mist was outpaced to the stretch and finished with a rush. Andrew B. Serenity, away badly, closed up steadily and made a cyclonic stretch rush, but finished swerving all over the course. Netting, reserved early, was messed about, finally finished a distant third and can do better. Jolly Witch forced the early pace, but tired in the last quarter. Edith James, away very badly, trailed for half the journey and closed a big gap in the last half. Lovey Mary ran well up nearly throughout and is extra good. Rather Royal, after forward early pursuit of the pacemakers, drew out at the half, hut tired iii the last quarter. Itoalta beat the barrier aDd was reserved In the middle running, but failed to make any impression in the stretch and ran a remarkably poor nice.
