Baboo, luckily and forwardly ilaced. drew out midway of the stretch and won going away. Import broke slowly and steadily improved his position into a fast going second. AVap, from a Hying start, made the running for five furlongs and quit badly in the closing drive. Buto, away poorly, closed a big gap and is promising. Amada was prominent for five furlongs and held on well at the end. Saint Modau, a slow beginner, had a rough trip. Billy Myer quit badly. Cocytus was nearly left and the same applies to Alcibiades. Phalanx indulged Tawasentha with the lead for a half, then drew out decisively and won as his rider pleased. Tawasentha, which had ran away two miles the morning before, failed to maintain her usual superior speed, but, held 011 well. Anna May, away slowly, closed up rapidly into a fast going third San Alvardo ran prominently for half the journey, then quit badly. Prestige got away poorly and was shuilled back, but made up ground moderately well. Trinta. nearly left, closed a big gap. Mrs. Frankie Newhurg showed early speed. Aznolo, from a lucky start, was always forward in the running and, in a game finish, got up to win in the last stride. Progress, from a striding start, established a long lead early and led to the final strides, but finished tiring badly. Canique, seriously bumped at the start, closed up steadily, but being forced to the extreme outside, just failed to get up. Captain Burnett was a prominent and game contender throughout and is extra good. Fisher Boy, away poorly, closed a big gap, but ran out ou the stretch turn. Mar-- tlnmas. from a flatfooted start, was knocked to the rear early and pocketed to the last quarter, then Hnished with a belated rush. Elmdale finished close up. Celeres was short. Won easily; second driving: third the same. Rubric, hard held, indulged the pacemaker for six furlongs, then drew out and won off decisively. St. Flmwood set the pace and save way suddenly on the last turn, but came again and was making up ground right at the end in a cracking effort. Nagazam, crowded out at the start, was rushed up on the inside into forward pursuit and loomed up menacingly midway of the stretch, but tired at the end. Fred Bent, outpaced seemingly for the first half, loomed up well on the last turn, but failed to stay and is still short. May L. Kin" of Mist, after close pursuit of the pacemaker for five furlongs, drew out at the half, was then momentarily headed on the last turn by Corrlgan, but came on again and outstayed the latter. Corrigan, reserved in forward contention to the far turn, moved up into a brief lead, but tired in the final strides of a terrific closing" drive. Benvolio was unexpectedly prominent throughout and a game third. Little Joker is a stayer and closed up steadily into a fast gaining fourth. Mendon, from a flatfooted start, was shuttled to the rear and closed an immense gap in the last half, but could never get up. Bonar made up ground steadily in the last mile and ran a remarkable race for him. Rotrou unexpectedly failed to stay. Lone Wolf was never dangerous. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Arklirta, somewhat sore, broke fast, but was reserved right behind the pacemakers and finally got up on the inside in the last stride of a terrific stretch drive. Rather Royal outbroke and outpaced the others decisively for six furlongs, gave way to the winner in the last fifty yards and then came again and was wi .u ing him down at the end. Ed Rail, away poorly, got into quick forward contention, but could never quite get up in a grand race. Roalta ran well up all the way, but was not quite good enough. Elba was badly outclassed.
