Tcacress closed a gap and forced a sharp pace, but tired suddenly in the closing strides under the whip. Belasco made up ground in a long stretch drive and finished gamely. El Bcrnado ran well to the stretch, but tired in the final drive. Talarand set a fast pace for a half and quit badly. Scratched 0S31G Sir Russell, 104; 722903Escamado, 104. Niblick ran into an easv lead on the far turn and, showing the most speed thereafter, always held his opponents safe. Progress was alwavs prominent and, in a sharp last eighth drive, easily drew away from lU-llmence in the closing strides. The latter followed the leaders closely for the first six furlongs, but failed to stay. Adoration ran an unaccountably dull race and can do better. Anona finished well. Patriotic ran in close quarters next to the rail after entering the stretch, hut got clear in the final sixteenth and finished with a rush. Wise Child closed a gap in the last quarter. The latter showed the most speed and appeared the winner in the stretch, but tired right at the end under the whip. Christine A., in a long final quarter drive, finished resolutely. Gorgalete finished well, but ran an unaccountably poor race, showing little speed until too late. J. F. Donohue ran fairly well. Court Martial ran a good mile, then quit badly. The latter ran a good race and finished fast. All Alone tired badly in the final drive. Early Tide was never prominent. Green Goods was prominent on the turn, but tired badly. Old Doninick, suddenly improved, tired badly after six furlongs of sharp pacepiaklng. Stray followed the pacemaker closely to the stretch and tired as if not quite ready.
