Hancock had to overcome early interfer-nce and went wide into the stretch, but finished with a rush and won a lucky race. Crafty, well Tint nnd showiug sudden Improvement, came from a long way back in the stretch and was going faster than the winner at the end. Rappahannock forced the pace for the fust half, but tired in the stretch run. Heart of Hyacinth ran well and but for swerving in the last sixteenth might have won. Monere showed the most early speed and was lucky throughout, but tired at the end. Denigre. if well ridden, would probably have won and ran a good race. St. Noel finished gamely. Abe Meyer was almost thrown soon after the start and was unable to recover from it. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Tileing ran a good race and but for bumping into and getting bumped by Pedro might have won. Platoon dashed into a long lead in the first half, but was too excessively urged and tired badly in the last furlong. Chief Hayes ran fairly well. Kings Plate showed s|»eed and had no mishaps. Tivolini, badly ridden r.nd restrained for three-quarters, came with a rush when urged and barely failed to get up for third place. Sponge Cake quit after going a good half.
