THINKS WELL OF SPOONERS PROSPECTS. Andrew Miller, a member of the board of stewards of the Jockey Club, and a partner in the ownership of tlie Newcastle stable, in speaking of the weights assigned M.-Carter and Spo.mer by handlcapper Vos burgh says: "After thinking the matt, r over I am better phased wilh th.- way handicapper Vosbuigh has treated Spooner in the Brighton Handicap than I am with his treatment of McCaticr. McCarter is wintering satisfactorily, and there is every indication that In- will make a good horse next season. "But if is a question whether he will handle- 11" pounds any better than Spooner will 97. Spooner is a fast little horse and a game one, and I am conlident lie will carry his speed over a distance of ground. But he must have weight off to heat good horses. Perhaps we made a mistake in not putting him in the BpioUyn and the Suburban. Spooner is a little horse and he may come to hand early."
