MANY HORSES ARRIVING AT LOUISVILLE Louisville Kyif March 31 Will Shelly who has been acting as presiding judge at Now Orleans since Clarence McDowell left here to go into the stand at the Washington Jockey Club spring meet ¬ ing will be Judge Charles F Prices assistant in the stand at Churchill Downs DownsW W G KingDodds the Cincinnati veterinarian who purchased Approbation Ismaillan and several other good horses from S Louis last week has reserved eight stalls for his stable at Churchill Downs and will he here for the opening His horses arc reported to be in good form formFred Fred Luzader and John Markleln arrived from New Orleans yesterday with their horses all of which are in good health Lnzader has ten and Marklein five head and most of them more than earned their way at the southern tracks tracksGeneral General manager M J Winn leaves tonight for New York where he will remain ahout ten days arranging for the meeting of the Empire City Racing Association at the Yonkers track next August Upon his return here Mr Winn will remain until after the close of the Louisville Jockey Club meeting meetingTrainer Trainer Thomas Kiley of the J M Gorman horses has wired Secretary Davis for eight stalls The best horse in the Gorman string is the threeyear old filly Miss Sain which he purchased from Bar ¬ ney Schreiber last fall for 5000 5000Advices Advices from New Orleans say It will require twentyfive horse cars to transport all the horses now at the Crescent City tracks which are destined to race at Churchill Downs The news that the parlinutuel machines will be used at the meeting here has made many horsemen at New Orleans decide to campaign their strings here as most of them are in favor ofreturnlng to the old system of
