DICK FINNELL IS AN IMPROVED HORSE HORSELexington Lexington Ky April 7 Among the stables that will come hero for the Kentucky Association spring meeting is that of Xugent Brothers of St Louis They have six horses Woolstone Dorasette Aileen C Anna Smith Soiree and Velox which were win ¬ tered at Douglas Park Louisville They are re ¬ ported to be very forward forwardJohnny Johnny McLaughlin has claimed the name Jeff Bernstein for the twoyearold colt by Orlando Lake Breeze The youngster is beiug trained by Jack Baker at the Kentucky Association track and looks and works in a manner pleasing to his owner and trainer Baker has taken up Dick Finncll and is going slowly with him The fouryearold brother to Dick Welles has improved wonderfully In appearance after his winters rest There is a threeyearold chestnut colt In this barn by Or ¬ lando Plantress tho dam of Plantland that may develop Into a crackcrjack His name Is Wallace Muir after the popular young City Attorney of Lexington He was not raced at all last year He had a suspicious foreleg and rather than take a chance on ruining him Mr Baker had him fired and turned out He has not taken a tender step since he was put in training some sixty days ago and the probabilities are that he will be heard from though not likely at the meeting here for he is not to be hurried In his preparation Under normal conditions this horse would bring 10000 in any market
