MAY BUY BAUER TWOYEAROLDS Lexington Ky April 11 There is a rumor here that the Newcastle Stable is negotiating with Julius Bauer for the purchase of the following nine two yearolds yearoldsBohio Bohio cli g by Previous Veracious by St Leon ¬ ards ardsFlorimel Florimel b f by Mesmerist Iroquois Belle by Iroquois IroquoisHoarder Hoarder ch g by Previous Mintage by Albert AlbertIzola Izola b f by Mesmerist Lily of theWest by Bishop BishopLa La Rebelle cli f by Mesmerist Indian Fairy by Iroquois IroquoisLinton Linton ch g by Mesmerist Sis Olee by Outcast OutcastMarie Marie Rue ch f by Previous Mary Street by Onondaga Mon Reve b f by Mesmerist Disadvantage by St George GeorgeOdin Odin ch g by Mesmerist Denise by HImyar HImyarThese These youngsters are now running out at Kenmore Farm They were broken and given their yearling trials last fall by William Steele and were turned out when that trainer entered the employ of Milton Young during the winter winterChoice Choice of the nine lies between Marie Rue and Mon Reve They both worked quarters In 23 seconds but Marie Rues work is counted the better because It was over a slow track Mon Reve however Is the better looking of the two Her dam Is now In the Millstream Stud Linton never had a trial He Is a big growing gelding and Steele went slowly with him so much so in fact that the track got bad before he had progressed sufficiently to be sent a trial He is a halfbrother to Lamp OLee Hakim and Rosemary D Odin and Bohio have never been a quarter The former worked an eighth In 11 and the latter in 11J Hoarder the full brother to Critic is the only one of the others that failed to work a quarter better than 24 seconds His best was 24 Charles McCracken manager of the Millstream Stud when askod if he knew anything of the rumored deal said he did not but added that he Is expecting a visit from Messrs Miller and Bishop during the coming week weekBesides Besides those named above there are only two twoyearolds by Mesmerist out this season and both have been raced at New Orleans Irfaneh the bay filly out of La Cheviot started twice and got first money both times though in her last race Marse Abe was disqualified to her favor In that race she was so badly used that John AVhitlaw her owner brought her home She is now in the stable of Walter Grater at the Kentucky Association track Dick Coghlll the colt out of Lady Holyrood belongs to Jerry Taylor and Is also at the local track John Hodegap broke him and after his splendid yearling trials considered him a rare good racing prospect However the colt was not able to score brackets in the south and was brought home a month or so ago to have a rest He is doing well now and may be heard from here or at Louisville LouisvillePhil Phil T Chinn arrived from Los Angeles Thursday and will spend a week or so here and at Harrods Imrg before journeying on to New York whither his horses were shipped from the coast I had a highly satisfactory season in California said be and there are two or three in my string that ought to hold their own with the horses they will meet in the east
