LEXINGTON TRACK STILL MUDDY Lexington Ky April 1C Kain fell Imavily gain last night but the high wind today has had dryingout effect on the track However it is in deplorable shite and good weather and much work iIl be necessary to have it fast for the opening i ext Wednesday WednesdayW W J Young arrived from Memphis today with twenty horses including the Kentucky Derby can ¬ didates Bill Hcrrori and Dunvegan They shipped in good style and are ready to race raceJohn John E Madden returned to Hamburg Place from Washington this morning He will not have any horses to race at the local meeting His second string will go to Pimlico Madden has sold Ob ¬ durate to trainer Hanna for 1700 and Skyline to H Harris for 1000 He has purchased from J Grccnburg of Louisville a yearling by Star Shoot which he says resembles very much that good threeyearold Uncle which he sold to Sam Jlildreth last summer summerMilton Milton Young and trainer Charles Hughes spent today at his Woodhuru Farm and while there Mr Young booked twelve mares to Samson the five yearold sou of Sainfoin Eckford which is making his first season under the care of John Morris Samson was raced by trainer Hughes as the property of Henry M Ziegler He is now owned by L 0 Appleby and Fred Burlew Jockeys Crimmins and Hcidel and Steve LHom nicdlcu the onetime plunger were among this arrivals today
