RACING PROSPECTS IN FAR NORTHWEST San Francisco Cal April 15 Al Dobson has re ¬ turned from Calgary Alberta where he attended the last meeting of the Western Canada Turf Asso ¬ ciation April 3 when the organization of that body was perfected Mr Dobson reports that there will be eighty days of racing in northwestern Can ¬ ada this summer divided between fifteen different cities and that 108000 will be distributed to owners in stakes and purses He said saidThe The new jockey club which was proposed in February completed its organization at the Calgary meeting It was formed on the lines of the Pa cific Jockey Club vesting its power in a board of five stewards One of the stewards F H Martin of Moose Jaw will be present throughout the circuit and will see that everything Is conducted In an uptodate and proper manner A professional starter who will use either a Vose or a Maxwell gate will dispatch the runners Only about fifty thoroughbreds will follow the Circuit there being stable room for no more moreTo To show what the people of Canada think of the new circuit I might say I have teen commis ¬ sioned by three men of different cities to huy and ship to them from two to five horses each The Canadians are splendid judges of horseflesh and readily huy a thoroughbred that looks good to them I believe that every good sound horse shipped there from California will tod a purchaser
