MUCH HIGH CLASS RACING AT OAKLAND Frank Flittner Takes tho Main Race Centre Shot Successful Again Oakland Cal May 2 The running of todays splendid card at Oakland was witnessed by 10000 spectators and the immense throng enthusiastically applauded the results in every race raceThe The program whicii was unique with respect to variety and the number of superior chyss horses en ¬ gaged included two specials the Claremont Han ¬ dicap and Linda Vista Handicap at one mile and a sixteenth and over tho Futurity Course which were won by Frank Flittner and Centre Shot respec ¬ tively both bred by Barney Schrelber at his famous Woodlands Stud Two condition races one at one mile and a halt for all ages and the other for twoyearolds at n halfmile in which Loglstilla and Tom Hayward were successful and two selling races which went to Belmere and Tavora filled out the program Every one of the six winners was a horse of superior and even high class capable of holding his own anywhere Speculation was again all in favor of the public as half of the card was captured by pronounced favorites favoritesW W Kelly was suspended for five days for foul riding on Tom Hayward in the second race raceCosset Cosset W n Applegates beautiful filly which narrowly escaped serious injury by Kellys rough work had her sides badly scraped from contact with the fence With any other rider but A Walsh Cosset would probably have given away quickly and endangered the horses behind her Only a day or two before Walsh had been nearly scalped by being thrown from an animal which had run away witli him while at exercise exerciseW W Walker intends to ship bis horses east May 12 12Barney Barney Schreibers negotiations for jockey Keogha services on the metropolitan tracks have fallen through throughKansas Kansas Trice bought Hilgert today for 1500 1500May May Amelia has been shelved The Sanford filly bled legCreston in her Jast race and also has a bad leg Creston Boy threw out a stifle in his last race raceButtes Buttes eleven stakes received 446 entries includ ¬ ing such cracks as Geinmell Blagg The Bear Jack Nunnally Neva Lee Native Son Cabin Workbox and many others
