KING EDWARD AND TRAINER MARSH When Marsh trains a winner for the King we are always pleased to notice His Majesty shaking hands with his trainer and expressing his felicita ¬ tions whilst the erstwhile rider of Thornfield has received presents innumerable from his royal patron The victory of Mead led His Majesty to give Marsh a diamond pin and when later successes followed the King handed him a packet saying It Is no use giving yon any more pins The packet con ¬ tained a handsome brooch set with diamonds repre ¬ senting a horse In full gallop with a jockey wear Ing the royal purple It was intended for Airs Marsh a daughter of Sam Darling the popiiUtr trainer of Beckhampton Wiltshire Frys Maga ¬ zine May 1
