HORACE E MAY BE COMING TO HIS OWN Two years is a long time to wait before getting the first return on the purchase of a 25000 colt but when Horace E won the five and a half furlongs handicap at Jamaica Saturday the amount won represented his first earning since Koy A Rainey liought him from Barney Schreiber in 1000 1000While While liis performance on Saturday was most im ¬ pressive it is his first indication of a return to the form that he showed as a twoyearold under the Schreiber colors He is a fouryearold son of Bannockbtirn Miss Lynnh and as a twoyearold made a record of 13305 in earnings winning ten out of fifteen starts and finishing second once third three times and outside the money once Among the stakes which he won were the Woodlands the Santa Barbara the Santa Monica the Undine the Gaston Hotel and the Memphis Stakes In the Gastou Hotel and Memphis Stakes he defeated Fountain blue and in a purse race lie finished first with Yan ¬ kee Girl and Montgomery behind him It was soon after his winning of the Memphis Stakes that Kalney liought him from Schreiber Horace K has been gelded since Ills purchase by Mr Italney and Satur ¬ days performance may indicate that he may this season show some of his early quality
