moll to him in tlie early betting Statesman a grand looking colt by Kinloy Mack Janice bad boon in ¬ dustriously touted all winter and spring as one of the best youngsters on Long Island ind the support for him was the natural result Few stopped to figure that Mr Forsythc would not have withdrawn High Private and added lion Ilomnie without good reasons Shrove rode Don Ilomnie and this was not supposed to help his chances and S to 1 was the rarly quotation But it did not last long for a legion of followers suddenly appeared and the colt was backed to 1 to 1 while Statesman went to 7 to 5 It was a well planned coup and went through acording to schedule Bon Iloimnc which looks like a good race horse and appeared to be very lit won all the1 way easily Then it was recalled that there was a colt in Mr Forsytlies barn which was supposed to be much better than High Private but the recollection came too late for the majority Mr Forsytlie and his friends cleared up handsomely and it is the
