NEW YORK ANTIRACING MEASURES AGAIN New York Tune 9 At Albany today the senate codes committee by a vote of r to 3 reported out the Agnew bill amending the penal code in regard to race track gambling without amendment Both hills arc now before the senate without amend ¬ ments which would aid nny attempt at delay The first test vote will come on the question of passing tlie gag rule which Senator Raines will offer to shut off any attempt at filibustering in case the effort to reach an agreement between both sides for a vote on Thursday fails failsSenator Senator McCarren after the committee meeting was asked it he still thought the bills were beaten I dont know but I hope so he replied repliedTlie Tlie Agnew Mil amends the penal code so as to make gambling on race tracks a misdemeanor pun ¬ ishable only by imprisonment Those who voted against the bill it is understood were Senators Cas pidy and GHchrist Republicans and McCarren Democrat Senators Hill Illnman Saxe and Fully Republicans and Taylor Democrat voted for the measure Senator Wemple Republican was absent
