WINDSOR TAKES KENILWORTHS PLACE Highland Park Club Takes tho Buffalo Dates and Opens June 27 Buffalo June 1C At a meeting of the stock ¬ holders in the Buffalo Racing Association at the Hotel Iroqnois last night the thoroughbred race meeting scheduled to OJKMI on June 22 and last till Tuly 25 was formally declared off without reserva ¬ tion of any character characterAt At the conclusion of the meeting Manager Joseph A Murphy declared himself broadly as follows The Buffalo Association just reorganized with local interests predominating for the first time is already heavily involved financially in taking over the Ken ilworth plant I strongly nrsed my associates on the ln ard against holding the scheduled meeting which in existing circumstances under the new New York law would certainly mean a heavy additional loss It is a most regrettable circumstance for we luid every assurance of a splendid meeting and every preparation has been completed for the meet ¬ ing which was to have been opened next Monday What the future holds forth I cxnnot say but I have every confidence that the new law with its un ¬ just provisions will not be found to correctly reflect public sentiment sentimentAs As soon as it became known that Buffalo would not race Walter O Parmer secretary for the Highland Park Jockey Club announced that bis club would advance ils fall meeting at Windsor and would take over the dates which would have been used by Kenilworth There is not the slightest connection between the two meetings however Windsor will under the readjustment of dates open on Saturday June 27 a week after the close at Hamilton with the opening feature the running of one of the big stakes of tho meeting the Fron ¬ tier Stakes The Windsor meeting will follow the program arranged for the fall meeting in that place all the stakes arranged for the fall meeting being run off at the meeting opening on June 27 Windsor will thus run till the opening of Fort Erie in Jate
