PARKVIEW WINS BLUE BONNETS STAKE Return of Good Weather Increases the Attendance at Montreal Many Horses Arriving Montreal Quo June 10 There was a welcome change in weather conditions at Blue Bonnets this afternoon It was an ideal summer day with just enough crispness to the air to make outdoor sports enjoyable A large and enthusiastic crowd turned out to witness the racing and as live of the favorites led at the finish in the different races results were eminently satisfactory to the public Karl Grey was again present and Montreal society was represented in large numbers in the clubhouse enclosure enclosureThe The program was a good one although the fields averaged small The Blue Bonnets Stakes for three yearolds at one mile and a steeplechase over the twomile course were the features The former event resulted in an easy victory for Dr W F Mathews Parkview which beat Billie Hibbs out a length Koorner who rode Parkview drew the fin ¬ ish fine He had a restraining hold of his mount fur the entire journey and at no time during the running was the winner fully extended Thomas Flyer one of the starters fell lame in the last quar ¬ ter and was pulled up upKnoMiampton KnoMiampton with Masnada in the saddle made his opponents appear cheap in the steeplechase It was the first good mount the Italian rider had at the meeting and incidentally the first time that Knohhampton was ridden by a competent jockey The result was that the latter fenced cleanly and showed extreme speed at nil stages of the race win ¬ ning easily by three lengths lengthsJockey Jockey Shilling had three winning mounts during the afternoon one of which was on P M Civills Goldway in the closing race Goldways win marked the sixth victory of the Civill stable at the meeting meetingA A carload of horses got in from New York this morning and in the lot was a consignment from the Newcastle stable J W Pangle received a couple from Frank Farrell Wavecrest and Almandine F E Brown also sent on the sprinter Momentum to Title Garson GarsonSir Sir Thomas Shaughnessys new purchase tho two yearold Silk Hose by Watercress Hosiery whlcn he secured from S C Ilildreth is expected to ar ¬ rive from New York Captain W F Presgravc has agreed to look after the filly and whatever other purchaseThere horses Sir Thomas may purchase There have been several sales during the past few days Lothar Rheinhardt a local gentleman bought of J F Burttschell thcrcightyeiirold Cursui anrtjfronuJ W Pangle the twoyearokl Gold Find and Thomas Stevens secured King Cole front F E Brown M L Hayman presented Thomas Flyer to a farmer after the latter broke down in the stake this afternoon afternoonAt At a meeting of the executive committee of the club which will be held tomorrow a decision will be reached as to whether the present meeting at Blue Bonnets will be extended
