NOT ENOUGH NATIVE FOALS FOR DERBY DERBYBlum Blum the Mexican Horseman Writes of Change in 1910 Race Conditions Lexington Ky June 20 According to a letter received by W E Oots from L Blum a day or two ago money is tight among the Mexican horsemen as well as it is in this country Blum had expected to make a summer buying trip to Kentucky und it was his plan to have been here by this time but he writes that he has been unable to make col ¬ lections for all of the horses that he took down to Mexico and sold last fall He expects a change In conditions shortly and has not abandoned his pro ¬ ject though he will probably not come hero before August or September SeptemberBlum Blum wrote further that there were registered in Mexico only twentyfive foals of 1907 and for that reason It became necessary to change the condi tions of the first Mexican Derby which is to be run In 1910 to permit of the entry of horses foaled in any country It was the original intention that the big race should be for horses foaled In Mexico only John Whitlow the owner of the good filly Irfaueh returned from New York a day or two ago He is a plater and says that business in his line was so dull that he had decided to come home for a rest Irfaneh has been running out since her return from New Orleans and it is Whitlows intention to send her to California next winter winterCharles Charles B Hill the manager of Clarence H Mackays Kingston Stud Is making preparations to go to New York He says no decision lias been made as to the disposition of the Kingston Stud yearlings principally the get of Meddler but it is quite certain that they will remain at the farm until fall fallHal Hal P Headley is rapidly regaining his health and his physicians have advised that ho give no at ¬ tention to business affairs He is heeding this ad ¬ vice strictly
