NO SPECIAL TRIALS FOR BRIGHTON FOLKS FOLKSNew New York August 13 Although Governor Hughes ordered Justice Rodgers of Watertown to hold a special term of court In Kings county on August 25 to try William A Engeman owner of tho Brighton Beach nice track Christopher J Fitzgerald presi ¬ dent of the Brighton Beach Racing Association anil John G Cavanagh who for many years was master of the betting ring it has now been decided that Justice Rodgers will not hear any jury trials Last week John B Stanchtleld attorney for the defend ¬ ants made a motion before Justice Dike ot the Kings County Court asking leave to Inspect the minutes juryTwice of the grand jury Twice the argument on the motion has been postponed Wednesday morning It was put off until Thursday next At that time Mr Elder declared Justice Rodgers would hold no jury trials He would simply hear the report of the special grand Jury JuryJustice Justice Rodgers said Mr Elder does not feel that it is necessary for him to sit during the hot weather and listen to jury trials when the regular term of the courts is so soon to commence He thinks these cases may well go over to the regular term of court t
