YONKERS FINANCES HAVE HEALTHY TONE New ork August 21 The 2 tariff has received a thorough test at the Yonkers track and those who have looked over the situation declare that the re ¬ duction of the admission rate to that figure was a move in the right direction It Is a fact the so called undesirable clement has been eliminated by the cutting out of tlie dollar field while the at ¬ tendance which lias been surprisingly large is of a better average quality than that seen at some of the ptlier tracks in this state As an indication of the business done at Yonkers under the present ad ¬ verse conditions it may be said that on Monday an offday with unfavorable weather the gross re ¬ ceipts were JMSOO while the expenses were 5100 Since then the receipts have exceeded the money paid out by some 650 Tuesday 700 Wednesday and about 900 Thursday
