THE MEXICAN DERBY OF 1910 Government Approves the Plan for a Bis Racing Event Two Years Hence Mexico City August 01 Tlie Mexican government has given formal approval of the plans for a big race meet to lie held here in the fall of 1910 when the first Mexican Derby wil be run The govern ¬ ment reduced the entrance fee for the Derby from 750 to 250 payable iu three installments 50 on December 1 190S 50 on December 1 190 and the remainder on the Monday preceding the race raceImported Imported horses may be entered but these must remain in Mexico from tlie date of entering to the time of the race The purse for the Derby will fojj 15000 and 50 per cent of the entrance fees Colts or fillies born in Mexico will get an advantage of ten pounds In the Derby of 1910 all entries are eligible whether imported or nativebred hut in the Derby of 1911 only nativebred horses will be allowed to enter
