THE COMING JAMESTOWN MEETING Secretary Hart Dcrnhaui of Norfolk Va writes ol the coming Jamestown meeting that present indi ¬ cations are for a most successful meeting Horses an arriving daily every stall on the grounds being Tilled AVe will have at lowest calculation 500 horses with us A special express of seven cars arrived from Fort Erie Wednesday Included in tho ship ¬ ment are horses belonging to James Arthur Nugent Itros AV A Smith 1 T Morris M A Nelf AV Newman AV Frv J Fox L Darnabv II Steele A W Perrin II Flippen and C C Hall The hotels are rapidly tilling up with horsemen and bookmakers together with a large following from New York Washington and Baltimore Frank Thorpe who will iiet as presidiug judge is well known as a racing itticial throughout the United States having acted in that capacity at Empire Citys inaugural meet jug last year James Milton will start the horses lie worked at Tampa and Havana last winter AAe expect to race at least twentylive days and if proper arrangements can lie made for a further ex ¬ tension of fifteen days to continue the meeting
