WILD THYMES QUEER AILMENT Lexington Ky September 1C Wild Thyme one of the mares at Millstream Stud has an atiliction which battles the knowledge of veterinarles Her left hind leg for the last two years and more lias been very much enlarged At some seasons of the year it assumes the proportions of a nail keg and it is never less than twice its normal size sizeThe The enlargement is from a few inches above the hock down to the hoof The veterinaries are all agreed that it Js not elephantiasis Some of them say it is erysipelas others are of the opinion that it is the result of a snake bite and still others have frankly said they are at a loss to account for forAs As unsightly as it is the mare apparently suffers no great inconvenience she has no perceptible Jimp in her walk and manager McCracken says he has often seen lier kick forcibly with that leg when swollen to its largest
