Minot. off forwardly. followed the early pace closely, shook off Baby Willie in the stretch and had enough left to stall off Giles rush at the end. The latter began slowly and was taken to the outside around the leaders, then finished gamely under punlfihiiient and would have won in another stride. Baby Willie tired as if short and was not persevered with Incognito was as good as left. Scratched 0S44S Twister. SO. Glaucus raced along witli the leaders under slight restraint until straightened out for the stretch racing, where he drew away quickly. Laughing Eves, crowded back at the start, graduallv improved her position and finished witli a rush after making a wide turn when entering the boniest retch. Andalusia made a game effort after entering the homestretch, but tired in the final drive. Saltram lin-ishd witli a belated rush. Gowanga broke slowly. Lady Isabel was struck when Euripides swerved across as the barrier was sprung with force enough to unseat her rider, but the latter managed to hang 011 to the mares neck and scrambled back into the saddle, then she closed a tremendous gap on the backstretch and, coming through on the inside, out-gamed Lally in the final drive. Lally followed the leaders closely throughout, but lost ground when entering the homestretch, where he was carried wide. Campaigner was much used in racing with Euripides and tired.
