Red Era, away poorly, closed a big gap and is improving. Rose Cherry, . shuttled repeatedly to the rear, closed up unexpectedly well at the end. Em and Em made up much ground from a bad start. Marlon Rose showed superior speed for the first half, but tired and was short. Sid Silver finished well. Hulford got away badly. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Voorhees ran in Inside forward pursuit of Belle Kinney to the last turn and was crowded out and lost four lengths, then could not quite get up in a fast, but belated, stretch challenge. Charles Green, well up from the start, finished with a rush into third place. Belle Kinney, from a flying start, made the running for a half mile and quit badly. J. R. Laughrey dropped quickly to the rear and closed a big gap in the last half. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
