INCREASED ATTENDANCE AT SAN ANTONIO. San Antonio. Tex., December 14. There was an increase over the opening days attendance, hut the betting this afternoon was rather light, due to a limited knowledge of the, horses form and the poor track conditions. There will be several absentees from the layers ranks tomorrow -because of losses and meager speculation. The victories of Parvo and Itan. respect-ivelv, in the fourth and fifth races, were extremely costlv to the lwokmakers. Jockey Pickens, who arrived this morning from Cincinnati, had tlie mount on tlie former. , , After George II. Whites victory in tlie closing race he was "bid up 00 over his entered price of 00 and lwught by ,T. E. Gibson. Dr. Downie, one of the starters in the opening race, furnished some excitement by bolting on one of the turns during the running, and caused jockey Speed to fall over the outer fence. He was unhurt.
