INTEREST MAINTAINED AT JACKSONVILLE. .Jacksonville. Fla.. April s. — Results exceeded ex pectations at Moncreif Iark this afternoon. 1 he program offered was an ordinary one, hut as tin fields in the different races were made up of ahout Oie same grade, good contests resulted, the iaiataes in a majority of the races being close enough to he exciting and in two of them short fends separated the winner and second karat at the end. Ret ret still, favorites were returned winners In four of the races and this put the large crowd present in a liappv fiame of mind. The weather was ideal for outdoor sport and the track was in good condition. A peculiar feature of the racing was that every winner came to the extreme outside when entering the homestretch and finished light under the judges stand. One of the attractions was a breeders pur-c The second of its kind run during the week. Piece dence proved best of the band that went to tne .ost in this affair, hut her victory was a hard earned one. Four of the seven starters that went to the post in this rare passed the winning mark aligned. James Milton lias been asked to act as starter at the meeting to be held at Brookliue. near Boston. Milton will probably do most of the starting at the Hunt Club meetings which will he held in the ea« next summer.
