ANOTHER RECRUIT TO RACING New York January 3 Charles Kohlcr a well known piano manufacturer is the man who recently purchased the Star Shoot stallion Uncle from S C Hildreth The consiiivration it is understood was 10000 Mr Hildreth it will bo remembered paid John K Madden 30000 for Uncle as a twoyearold Mr Kohlcr has already established Uncle at his farm in the Ramapo Hills of New Jersey and Frank Taylor Mr Hildreths brotherinlaw has under ¬ taken the task of purchasing some mares to mate with him When Mr Taylor went to Lexington to ¬ ward the end of November for the FasigTipton Com ¬ pany sale le purchased six horses for Mr Kohler Three of them were coming twoyearolds and three were broodmares The three broodmares will be mated springMr with Uncle in the spring Mr Kohler who owns t farm of wide extent in the Itamapo Mountains will race the three twoyear olds next season under Frank Taylors management The twoyearolds owned by Mr Kohler were bred anrl raised by Kdward Corrigau One of them is by McGfc the sire of Calyple out of The Lady a daughter of Kingston which bore the Corrigan colors with distinction This youngster is at Sheepshead Bay wilh his stable companions Everybody who has soen him likes him himS S 13 Hildreth says he will soon establish a breed Ing farm in Kentucky and will reserve the stallions Fitz Herbert Firestone and King James for stud duty The race mares Livonia and Jeanne dArc will also be sent to the lUldreth establishment as FOOU as tliiV have ended their racing careers on the turf turfRecently Recently Mr Hildreth has had good offers from Kentucky for his stallions Montgomery and Dande ¬ lion If he does not sell them soon Mr Ilildreth will train Montgomery aud Dandelion for the coming season of racing
