AMERICAN THREEYEAROLDS IN ENGLAND Many Eligible to the Two Thousand Derby and St Leger but Few FewAre Are Dangerous Thirtynine Americanbred threeyearolds arc eligible to start in the Epsom Derby of 1910 Of these twelve are In this country ami altogether unlikely to be sent over to take part in the worlds most famous race Now in England are Sir Whitneys Blue Girl colt New Castle gallic of Navarre colt and Yorkville Helie colt Mr Mackays Troubled Waters Truckee and Meddler Vantage filly Mr Hitchcocks Wyoming Mr Keenes Lyndin Mr Belmouts Merry Tank Asticot II and Hasty Pudding these all being still Ameri ¬ canowned candidates This leaves sixteen in English ownership of which it Is questionable whether any or at best more than one or two will be given any consideration in connection with the Derliy The best in this list is probably T A de Rothschilds brown colt Nankeen by Kingston Dominoes which may develop into a good one He started twice lust year won his first race and ran second to Greenback in the Clearwell Stakes at Newmarket defeating among others Mr Whitneys New Castle CastleNominations Nominations of Americanbred horses to the Two Thousand Guineas of 1910 number twentyeight and to the Doucaster St Leger of 110 arc twentyone Mr Keenes Lyndin Mr Relmonts Merry Task and Hasty Pudding ami Mr Maekays Troubled Waters are in the Two Thousand Derby and St Leger Mr Whitneys only St Leger nomination is New Castle which was nominated by E C Cowdin before his sale to Mr Whitney The latters four Derby horses are In the Two Thousand as also are his Whisk Broom and Artless John E Madden made no St Leger nominations lint made eighteen to the Derby of which all lint leiu Nash Hampton Court Newmarket Naughty loy Levengston and Bulka have been declared out None of those left eligible lias shown form in this country suggestive of n future trip to England His nominations to the Two Thousand were Sir Xeddam Bivhop Naughty Boy Levengston Bean Nash and Newmarket Of these Sir Neddam and Eeaii Nash are dead and Levengstou and Beau Nasli had been sold from Ills ownership before the latter died diedOutside Outside of Mr Whitneys candidates there are none to hold out any hopeful promise of being able to carry off one or more of these great races Mr Keenes twoyearolds were great disappointments and all but Lyndin have been brought back to this country or sold Lyndin was a big overgrown twoyearold re ¬ quiring time to mature so he was given a chance and left at Beckhampton in the hope that he would de ¬ velop into something worthy of a halfbrother to Commando Allowing that it is characteristic of the Med ¬ dlers to improve with age Mr Maekays Troubled Witters may have a remote outsiders chance But in the sense of public form It Is to Mr Whitneys AVhisk Broom and Sallie of Navarre colt that American hone threeyearoldsBelow must turn They were proved good twoyearolds and may be better threeyearolds Below are given the Americanbred ellglbles to all three of the big races It is quite probable that some of those in English possession have changed to owners other than those named here but that does not dotract from their right to start
