POSSIBILITY OF BACING AT SEATTLE San Francisco Cal January 13 There is sonic prospect that racing may be resumed at Seattle IVasIi where the sport last nourished Iu the SHIII tner of 1UOS During the following winter the Wash ¬ ington legislature passed an antibookmaking law and no attempt was made to hold a meeting at The Meadows last summer James F McElroy manager of The Meadows is expected here shortly to investi ¬ gate the oral system of betting with the idea of employing it in connection with a revival of racing at Seattle Matt ICeis a Seattle man who is racing liere has received a marked copy of a Seattle news ¬ paper from friends quoting Mr McEIroy as saying tnat the Washington racing laws are similar to those of California and New York and that what was law ¬ ful in those states would be lawful in Washington so far as betting on the races is concerned Mr Mc Klroy Is credited with the idea that if a meeting with oral betting can be successfully conducted at Oakland Seattle can do as well Seattle racing enthusiasts are convinced that if there is even a slight chance to hold profitable meetings the King Couuty Fair Association will reopen at The Meadows
